My Place

Where do you go when Life gets tough and you are completely stressed out? Well, for me it's the gym.  I love to get on the elliptical and let my problems just melt away.  When life gets hard or I am angry, I like to think in a place where I won't be bothered and I can reflect.  The anger I am feeling during these hard times is constructive in the gym environment.  I am getting healthier as I solve what ever crisis I am in at the time.  My favorite feeling is when I am almost in a trance.  My body is moving almost as if on it's own, and my mind is blank and I see and feel nothing.  I drain my body completely and by the time I return to reality I forget all about the problems in my life and feel great.  This exercise make my body and my mind feel amazing. I think it's important to have a place of your own that you can go to in order put your life back on track.

I agree completely. I have several ways of dealing with the ups in downs in my life. One example is obvious, I run from it. Everyone has done this at times. Another way i deal with it is working out. Working my body so hard I get to a point I don't have the energy to worry about it. And the last way i tend to work through these things is by surrounding myself with friends. When I do that the worries and stresses going on in me disappear and I completely forget about them.
When deciding how I'm going to handle each stress it really just depends on the kind of things I'm going through. Each one has its own way of relaxing me.

i agree with you, but at times I need to be alone and sometimes I feel like everyone is watching you at the gym and I'd rather just be alone with myself. However, I completely understand how the gym makes you feel healthy so when I am going through a hard time I love to hike and run. The atmosphere plus the adrenaline makes me feel completely sane again. I can forget about my problems or just think of ways to solve them. Instead of running away mentally i run physically which later helps me approach the issue with no bottled up anger. Try bringing the gym outdoors, it helps!
