Where do you go when Life gets tough and you are completely stressed out? Well, for me it's the gym. I love to get on the elliptical and let my problems just melt away. When life gets hard or I am angry, I like to think in a place where I won't be bothered and I can reflect. The anger I am feeling during these hard times is constructive in the gym environment. I am getting healthier as I solve what ever crisis I am in at the time. My favorite feeling is when I am almost in a trance. My body is moving almost as if on it's own, and my mind is blank and I see and feel nothing. I drain my body completely and by the time I return to reality I forget all about the problems in my life and feel great. This exercise make my body and my mind feel amazing. I think it's important to have a place of your own that you can go to in order put your life back on track.

We're not in High School anymore?
We are definitely not in High School anymore. College is tough, way harder than high school and extremely more competitive. I went through high school never having to study and i would get my 4.4 GPA and be completely satisfied. Now I am in college and I have to work my ass off to get a 3.3 in order to get into the business school. Not only that but a A and an A- are worth two different amounts of points. I came into college completely underestimating the amount of work I was going to have. Now that I look back, I would have learned how to study in high school so I would know how when college came around. I have the work ethic. So in conclusion, I have to try a lot harder to get a little bit less. WOW, College is hard.
Anyone feel the same way I do?

Dallas, the Stars aren't shining very bright

The minute Hockey Season starts is the minute my life gets a whole lot better.
I am a DALLAS STARS FAN!
Unfortunately the Stars have had a rough start, with three loses, two wins and a loss in overtime the stars are low in the standings. I am hoping it is because of the new season and the team is just trying to get used to the new players. I mean how can the team not be one of the best this year with the number one player from Sweden, Fabian Brunnstrom. This young player made a hat trick in his first game in the NHL. One of only four or five players ever to have done this.
Other new players such as James Neal and Bad Boy Sean Avery are also going to make the Stars an amazing team this year. Marty Turco is not playing up to par this season so far. It must be because of the new team members, because he is one of the best goalies in the league.
Hockey is the sport for true athletes. Skating on ice. with with a stick trying to get a puck in a goal. Constant movement whether backward or forward up and down the ice while be checked into the boards be other players. It's rough and players must be in tip top shape.
The Stars are going to win the Stanley Cup this year, I can feel it.
I'll be at the game this Saturday to watch them battle the Capitals and move toward the number one spot.

Art

Art is almost everything you can think of. Everywhere you look there is art. The buildings at our school were created by someone and they resemble some sort of style. Art has took many different turns and twists, but were they for the better?
I am going to say it as bluntly as I can. Modern painting is a disgrace to all art and artists of the past. Is a canvas painted all red or orange worthy of any praise? Paint splattered on a canvas takes no skill. I could give three buckets of paint and a canvas to a five year old and he could create modern art. It's crap. I mean, come on, who wants to pay five million dollars or more for something anyone could create themselves.
Can the average person recreate the statue of David by Michelangelo? NO, that's what makes it amazing. Real art takes time and skill, use of precision, and technique. Art created during the over hundreds of years ago by beings with tools less technologic than we have today are so much greater and are more beautiful than anything I have seen today.

An Eye for an Eye?
Does the law, as it is right now, not punish criminals with the just punishment? Should punishment be harsher and really send a message to all people in order to make them think twice about a crime they might be pondering about? I think so. The law as it is is not harsh enough on the violent crimes in our countries. Each criminal should be punished to the extent of the crime in which they commit. For example, for murdering someone, the murderer should be put to death. Which brings me to to capital punishment.
Capital Punishment is just in every aspect. When a person murders another person, the murderer is taking away a person's right to live. Therefore, the murderers right to live should be unwillingly stripped from him just as he did to the victim. Life imprisonment with opportunities for parole is not a just punishment. The fear a prisoner faces while awaiting death is part of the punishment and when death is finally dealt the punishment has been served. More over, people who torture others should be tortured. Yes it seems harsh, but it will send a message to criminals that if you torture someone you in return will be tortured.
Harsher laws will deter some criminals from committing terrible crimes and the country might be just a little more safer as a result.

Who Are You?
Why do people feel the need to conform to how they want other people to perceive them? Being different is nothing to be ashamed of. If you feel the need to conform, you will never be who you really are. Always acting like someone you are not is dishonest, not only to yourself but also to your friends. If you do not act and portray your true self, you are living a lie. Friends should know who the true person they are friends with. Are people afraid to speak their minds and and act as they really are because of the way people might react? To not care about what other people think about you is a very difficult trait to obtain but it is something everyone should strive for. To know that how people view you does not matter makes one's opinions stronger and more concrete. One can have no doubt or insecurities about who he or she is.
True friends will accept you for who you are, if they don't they are not as good of a friend as you thought. Being able to be honest to your friends is a very important thing. Relationships are key to a happy and fulfilled life. Building relationships with the kind of people you can talk to about life's hardships and struggles you might be going through is essential in order to overcome obstacles and grow as a person. Trust and honesty are the two most important qualities to have in regards to all relationships. So strive to accomplish these traits in all your relationships and build new relationships, but most importantly stick to who you truly are.
